RE: Adult circumcision outcomes study (letter)

Kenneth S. Fink

The penile sensitivity summary score comprised responses to three statements on a 5-point Likert scale:

  1. It takes me longer than I like to have an orgasm (increasing score means less sensitive)
  2. My penis is not sensitive enough (increasing score means less sensitive)
  3. I have premature ejaculations (decreasing score means less sensitive)

All respondents (N=43)

Q. mean before  mean after  p
1 2.6          2.8         .096
2   2.5          2.7         .345
3   2.3          2.2         .782

Respondents who had sex with same partner before and after (N=31)

Q.  mean before  mean after  p
1   2.4          2.7         .147
2   2.2          2.3         .791
3   2.6          2.2         .153

The small sample size likely prevented statistical significance. Hope this is useful.
